While working as Executive Design Director at SK+G, the client approached us with a name and a burnt out shell of a space on the famous Sunset Strip. I assembled a team of talented designers and we took a journey of research, visual storytelling and attitude that eventually led to the birth of “Kid Reilly” The designer and I talked about the kind of attitude he could have and I sold the concept the the client. It wasn’t that hard … they loved Reilly the moment they saw him. Eyepatch and all! From there the client and the writing team crafted a great backstory and we were off and running, fine tuning the identity, collateral, typography, consulting on the space design (exterior and interior) and really injecting the edgy sense of Rock n’ Roll attitude that propelled Rock & Reilly’s to the forefront of the Sunset Strip scene. From there, the client expanded into Park City, UT, Downtown L.A., New York, Las Vegas and more recently the USC campus.
